Eight Spanish airports achieve successful renewals

03 July 2019
Seven airports implemented by Aena, the Spanish airport operator, have achieved a successful renewal within the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.
Menorca, Santiago & Alicante-Elche Airports have just renewed their Level 1 'Mapping' accreditation, for creating a detailed inventory of their emissions. A special shout out goes to Menorca Airport, this year’s ACI EUROPE Eco-Innovation Award Winner!
Five airports worked hard to reduce the CO2 emissions under their direct control and managed to substantially decrease them. Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca and now also Málaga-Costa del Sol Airports' efforts secured them their Level 2 'Reduction' accreditation. Congratulations!
